WBWWB - THE VISABLE PAST
We Became What We Beheld (2015) is a rekindled documentation of Edmund Carpenter’s photographic novel ’They Became What They Beheld - 1970’. This multidimensional narrative retold through a perceptual and literary juxtaposition helps further understand how media affects the form of social organization over space and time. In addition to Carpenter’s words, this manifestation was heavily influenced by insights of communication theorist Marshall McLuhan and his belief that our natural environment is shifting towards an electrical automated Global Village.
