Sunday Morning
In this coffee shop on Sunday morning anyone in the space can easily see anyone else who is there if they wish; there are no private nooks or alcoves; indeed, there are no barriers at all, except for the counter. Yet people have intense private conversations there, sit alone and work or muse, hang out with groups of friends, or partake of a family brunch. Most of the patrons grab and go, making for continual movement. Nonetheless, there is a loose sense of peace; people don’t disturb each other or get in one another’s way.
