It all started one sunny day in 2008 in the ocean off of the California Central Coast. A friend and I were surfing and we were grooving on our situation. Perfect waves, glassy ocean and fueled by a Peanut Butter Sandwich, mentally as well as physically. There were other people out that day but we were in our own little world, our own deep groove. It was spectacular. It was inspiring. It produced the idea for this magazine. What this taught me is that “play” is incredibly important to creative output and to fuel you with the energy to act on creative ideas. And “play” is not physical, it is mental and it can be applied to a lot more activities than one would imagine. It is a state of mind, a way of life. It is grooving in your own groove. Call it a big picture “flow” or call it acting like a kid, all doesn’t matter, when entered and pursued it gets things done! This magazine aims to get you, the reader, inspired to apply “play” by featuring people who are grooving in “play”.
