The Downtown L.A. Photography Challenge with John Free
For twenty years, John Free and his son Scott have conducted classes and workshops dedicated to helping photographers improve their social documentary photography. They found the pressure of time constraints and the chance to work under the conditions endured by a professional photographer enabled students to produce their best photographs. They combined what they had learned in the many years of teaching and offered photographers a chance to work on what they consider an important photography project, to produce a stunning photographic portrait of Los Angeles. John and Scott provided lectures and demonstrations which helped elevate the excitement level of the eager photographers and allowed them to produce their best photographs. This book is proof of how an important project and a deadline helps photographers of all levels of skill produce an important visual document.
