“Dry Documentaries” is a photographic body of work that depicts both familiar and imagined landscapes while simultaneously exploring organic, abstract art forms also encountered. The landscapes, seascapes and abstract visions that make up this multi-part series are non-manipulated images captured as camera RAW files. Only minor contrast, color and tonal balance adjustments have been applied to the digital negatives. It is of utmost importance that my prints are actual and accurate representations of what I framed through my viewfinder.

A series about the discovery of palm readers, fortune tellers and psychic shops around L.A. after the sun goes down. In the dark night glow these shops vibrate with life. Their brightly lit storefronts share a language in common, attracting like moths those hopefuls looking for magical answers to impossible questions. These storefront designs have become an outsider form of art with its own unique vocabulary.

Salvation Mountain can be found just off Beal Road near California State Route 111. It sits roughly between Niland and East Jesus, a few miles from the Salton Sea. This brilliant ‘outsider’ artwork is made of adobe, straw, and thousands of gallons of lead-free paint. California Senator Barbara Boxer described it as "a unique and visionary sculpture... a national treasure... profoundly strange and beautifully accessible, and worthy of the international acclaim it receives". The site, which requires constant maintenance due to the harsh surrounding environment, is preserved by many visitors donating paint to the project, and groups of volunteers work regulary to protect and maintain this incredibly fragile artwork.
